January 27, 2021 COPY
To: Burnett County Wisconsin Board of Supervisors
Subj: Supervisor Steve Austin
Dear Burnett County Board of Supervisors Member, way 1,0 tee.
As noted in the communication that concerned citizens sent to you last month,
Supervisor Steve Austin's behaviors and statements have gained notice from people
outside of Burnett County. His involvement in corruption, collusion, and conflict of
interest are about to be exposed. Take note that the January 5, 2021 Burnett County
Land Use and Information Committee meeting has been viewed on YouTube close to
1,000 times.
Corruption— Supervisor Austin has profited greatly at the expense of several taxpayers
in Oakland and Swiss Townships by abusing his positions of authority in County and
Township government. By leveraging his influence within local government, he
realized a $1.5 million pay day in November 2020 from a strongly opposed, yet
approved, campground development. See Appendix I.
Collusion — With the assistance of deputy Josh Henry, Supervisor Austin has done
harm to at least 2 Burnett County taxpayers—Jim Trenter(2018CV000164 Case Details
in Burnett County) and Ed Batton. Why is the Trenter case still open over 2 years later?
The accident report makes no mention of Steve Austin's trip to a Spooner medical
facility. Blood test? See Appendix II.
Conflict of Interest— Supervisor Austin should not be allowed to gain approval of any
CUP application that his constituency opposes. These taxpayers have been/are meeting
the requirements of Act 67 by providing substantial evidence that would warrant denial
of any CUP submitted by him, based on his personal actions regarding infractions
against State, County, and DNR regulations. Most of his CUPs are also in direct
conflict with the Burnett County Comprehensive Plan, which means his business
objectives are in direct conflict with his duties as a County Board Supervisor.
Reference the January 5, 2021 Land Use and Information Committee meeting packet
for details.
It is time to stop Supervisor Steve Austin's abhorrent behavior. The taxpayers of
Burnett County deserve better!
Sincerely,
Make It Right Org.
