•
Based on the data analyzed for the off-site review,as well as the field conditions observed during the April 22,
2021 field review, one wetland is located the project review area. The following is a summary of the wetland
found within the project review area.
The wetland onsite may be described as a vernal pool wetland community type. Dominant vegetation within
the wetland sample point(WET-1) are Carexstricta(tussock sedge,OBL), and Carexlacustris(lake sedge, OBL) in
the herbaceous layer. Populus tremuloides (quaking aspen, FAC) and Pinus strobus(white pine, FACU) were
noted in the tree layer along the perimeter of the wetland boundary. A10: 2cm Muck field indicator of hydric
soil was noted at the WET-1 sample point. Evidence of wetland hydrology observed within the sample point
include High Water Table(A2),Saturation (A3),Water-Stained Leaves(B9),Sparsely Vegetated Concave Surface
(B8), Geomorphic Position (D2)and FAC-Neutral Test(D5).
An upland area was identified and documented by a sample point(UP-1)as well. The herbaceous layer dominate
is Carex pennsylvanica(Pennsylvania sedge, UPL). The shrub layer is dominated by Pinus strobus(white pine,
FACU). The tree layer is dominated by Quercus rubra(northern red oak, FACU), Pinus strobus(white pine, FACU),
and Populus grandidentata(big tooth aspen, FACU). The upland sample point(UP-1)failed to meet the 3-
parameter approach to wetland delineation under normal circumstances, and therefore was determined to be
upland. More information on the wetland and upland sample points are enclosed within this report as the wetland
identification field investigation form.
The wetland boundaries depicted on the associated field sketch are approximate only and may not be appropriate
for design purposes, such as set-back or permit requirements. If wetlands are located on your property,we
recommend that a wetland delineation be conducted on your property by a qualified wetland delineator.
Wetlands are regulated by various state, federal, and local units of government. Prior to conducting any activities
in or around wetlands,we recommend you contact the appropriate staff from Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resources, U.S.Army Corps of Engineers and Burnett County.
If you have any questions, please call me at(715)415-4916 or email Travis.Holte@wisconsin.gov.
Sincerely,
dite
Travis YHolte
Wetland Identification Specialist
Enclosures:
Project Location/Review Area Figure
Wetland Identification Field Sketch
Wetland Field Identification Form
Wisconsin Wetland Inventory Figure
Soil Survey Mapping
Cc(via email):
Bill Sande, Project Manager, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
