You only had
one area that did not have quite enough tree coverage due to some losses from Oak wilt. Your simple restoration plan
is to plant 8 red pine trees—Pinus resinosa. I have attached a photo showing the planting area. Please let me know if
you have any more questions.
Thanks,
Paul Cook
From:Joe Kirscht<jkirscht@us.ibm.com>
Sent:Tuesday, May 11, 2021 9:15 AM
To: Cook, Paul<pcook@burnettcounty.org>
Cc: Lane,Ann<alane@burnettcounty.org>;Towne,Jason <jtowne@burnettcounty.org>; Lieffort, Heidi
<hlieffort@burnettcounty.org>
Subject: RE: 28759 E Yellow River Rd, Danbury- Fire Pit Area
Hi Paul,
That's odd...the number that I have provided is correct (507) 269-9256
I am building a shed/garage.
I needed variance for shed/garage.
Site visit flagged my fire pit area as a violation
Reason: washed stone around fire ring is within 75 foot setback area(but it is outside of the 35 foot vegetative buffer zone)
The board made a motion as part of my variance that I was to remove the washed stone and return to natural state.
I followed up with Jason Towne to see what it takes to keep the fire-pit area as is(with proper permitting)
This includes doing shoreline"mitigation/restoration" and sign affidavit that I will maintain it. (this is also needed for Impervious
Surface requirements for shed)
I have always left the vegetative buffer zone alone other than taking down what was left of a jack pine that snapped in the 2011 storm.
(My neighbors to both north and south have mowed down to shoreline).
So,I don't even know if I need to do anything at all other than sign something saying that I will maintain the current state.
I think that's where you come in.I need to know what the"requirement" is to meet the vegetative buffer zone needed for mitigation
points to both
(A)Build my garage/shed
(B)Apply for permit to keep my firepit and washed rock around it in its current location.
1
