Jason Towne:
I have obtained a standard permit from Dan Harrington, DNR at Spooner to place rock rip rap on the shoreline of my
property at 7162 South Devils Lake Drive.
Dan Harrington told me we would need a county permit to remove enough woody vegetation to place stone with heavy
equipment.
In order to mechanically place that stone along the shoreline, Hopkins Sand and Gravel, my contractor, is asking that
enough woody vegetation be removed to physically move stone from a truck and place that stone on the shoreline. If
trees are left in place then many trees will be severely damaged and will have to be removed anyway.
The trees in the lake are under water and are all dead due to the high water levels of Devils Lake. In order to place the
filter cloth under the rock rip—rap those dead trees should be removed.
Please send me the permit forms and application for this lake shore erosion control project.
Thank you.
Daniel Chelmo
920-787-4437
2
