BURNETT COUNTY
LAND & WATER CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT
7410 County Road K,#109
Siren, WI 54872
Telephone:(715)349-2186 Fax:(715)349-2102
DATE: June 30,2006
TO: Burnett County Zoning Dept.
FROM: Paul Cook, Conservation Specialist L.
RE: Jim and Lynette Metz—3852 S. Shore Road,N. Sand Lake
On June 29, 2006, I visited the Metz property to discuss options for taking care of a
failing retaining wall.
I am recommending that they remove the old retaining wall and backfill with clean sand
to create a back slope. In doing so they must first install a silt fence, prior to wall
removal or backfilling. They must also immediately revegetate the filled areas. I am
recommending they replant lawn grass seed on either side of their dock for a few feet and
the rest of the fill will be stabilized with native plants. After the area is stabilized they
can remove the silt fence. This area of fill will be a few feet landward of the ordinary
high water mark.
