Voyager Village POA
2021 Dock Expansion Plan for DNR Approval
July 8, 2021
Voyager Village is a recreational/residential community encompassing 5,600 acres. It is within the
townships of Jackson,Scott and Webb Lake. Voyager Village owns shoreline on 11 lakes:
1. Bartash Lake
2. Birch Island Lake
3. Boogy Lake
4. Cadotte& Loon Lake
5. Corwick Lake
6. Crystal Lake
7. Culbertson Lake
8. Hanscom Lake
9. Little Bear
10. North Lang Lake
11. Shoal Lake
Of these 11 lakes the shoreline of three of the lakes,Crystal,Culbertson, and Little Bear is owned
entirely by Voyager Village Property Owners Association (VVPOA).Voyager Village owns some portion of
the shoreline of the remaining eight. The total shoreline owned by Voyager is 53,167 feet, slightly more
than 10 miles.
For over the last 50 years Voyager Village has been a model steward of the land and especially our
lakeshore. We have kept our commitment to maintaining the shoreline in its natural state. An example
of our commitment to preserving natural habitat and water quality is the fact the Little Bear Lake has
Cisco in it,which are only found in high quality water situations created by our strict guidelines. Less
than 4%of our shoreline has been developed for beaches, boat landings and docks. Our goal is to keep it
that way by carefully placing and maintaining multi-slip piers that limit the number of access points
while satisfying the number one amenity request from our members—annual boat slip rentals. At this
time Voyager Village would like to expand the number of slips on four lakes and the addition of any new
docks would be floating docks that would be removed for the winter.
We feel that adding boat slips is the best way to further protect our lakes from a multitude of invasive
species by letting our members have access (dock spaces are not rented out to public)to a lake without
having to launch and remove the boat each time. Without a permanent dock slip people are more likely
to lake hop and increase the chances of spreading something between lakes. Over 90%of our slip
owners have pontoons and are interested in fishing, sightseeing, and enjoying the natural beauty of the
lake. Dave Ferris the Burnett County Land and Water Conservationist would be a good reference to our
stewardship for the past 50 years.
