This letter is to sum up our
conversations that day.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will not be seeking any permits for activities occurring at this
location. Specifically, you stated that no wetland filling had been done, only adding additional fill to areas that
had previously and historically been filled. I agree.
Please continue to work with Burnett County Zoning staff related to your vegetative buffer zone.
Additionally,we discussed the following items:
• Access to an upland areas—As explained, alternatives to wetland filling include constructing an elevated
board walk on pilings. This construction method is exempt from DNR wetland approvals.
• The small area off the town road to access upland your upland areas with a driveway will require a
wetland fill permit. The application can be found here:
http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/W aterways/construction/wetiands.htm I.
• Another alternative we discussed was to remove the existing attached garage, and construct a larger
one to alleviate the need for a storage shed in the wetland.
If in the future you decided to build a board walk structure, let me know and I will respond in writing that your
proposal is exempt from any DNR regulations,
if you have any questions regarding this letter, I can be reached at 715.635.4097.
