Towne, Jason
From: Timothy Porter <tim.porter@redfin.com>
Sent: Wednesday, September 15, 2021 10:50 AM
To: Towne, Jason; Conroy, Craig;Taylor, Donald
Cc: shortceo2012@gmail.com
Subject: Correspondence To Burnett County Regarding Voyager Village Boat Slip Expansion On
Loon/Cadotte Lakes.
Good Morning Jason, Craig & Don,
My name is Tim Porter and I am writing you this letter to make you aware of
my family's concern in regards to the Voyager Village boat slip expansion proposal on Loon & Cadotte Lakes.
My parents Bev & Bill Baker built on Loon Lake back in 1987 and we have enjoyed every minute of our time at
the lake. We have noticed and are becoming very concerned about the heavier boat traffic, shoreline
erosion and
impact these things are having to the lakes, environment and wildlife.
Last weekend I was on the lake, and it was heartbreaking to see the families of Loons dodging the heavier boat
traffic, jet skies and what has been an increase in water skiers and such.
As you are probably aware, these lakes are not big and are very shallow, adding to the deterioration. With the
proposed addition of 32 slips, almost doubling what they currently have, will definitely impact the environment,
quality of the lakes and the quality of lake living that families who own property on the lake have cherished for
generations.
Sounds like after Voyager Villages last expansion of boats slips on the lakes, our association was told that this
would be the last. Obviously, that does not seem to be the case and there is nothing in place to prevent them
from adding more in the future.
I am sure you all cherish the environment of Burnett County and all the great things that have attracted families
to this area over the years. Hopefully you will
see that this expansion really is not necessary and by not letting it move forward, will help preserve the few
special places we have left.
Thanks for your consideration and if you have any questions or would like to talk
more about this situation, please feel free to contact me.
Thank You,
Tim Porter
ph# 651-285-0957
E-Mail - t.s.porter@comcast,net
1
