7ECEOWED
20 September 2021 1.[
Jason Towne
I SEP `r 4 2021
Burnett County Zoning Administrator
ty
7410 CountyRoad K Burnett Coepar
Land Services Department
Siren WI 54872
Dear Mr. Towne,
We are contacting you as members of the Loon Lake Property Owners Association—our family being
long time property owners on Loon Lake at 29239 Ford Road.
On July 8th, a '2021 Dock Expansion Plan for DNR Approval" was issued by Voyager Village POA to the
DNR proposing the addition of 80 boat slips (incremental to the existing 90 slips) on four Burnett
County lakes with Voyager Village shoreline. The proposal is to add 32 slips beyond the 38 currently
specific to the Loon/Cadotte Lakes.
We appreciate the positive impact of Voyager Village on our community but have great concern for the
potential negative impact on water quality, should this plan advance.
In 2002 the PUD for Voyager Village and its Recreation Plan was amended with Burnett County
approval to allow an increase in boat slips on six lakes including Loon/Cadotte Lakes. Voyager Village
submissions stated their long-range plan was lake use with the "least impact on the environment with
priorities on the water quality, animal life and plant life". The Loon Lake Property Owners Association
believes water quality and lake wildlife have been deteriorating since 2002.
We support review of stipulations for present lake water quality for all area lakes. Lake depth, types of
watercrafts and motor sizes are additional factors that must be included in this analysis.
We request that our lakes—water quality, shoreline preservation, wildlife protection—be given
comprehensive review, halting any actions during the interim and requiring submission for approval on
any/all plan proposals.
Burnett County's lakes are present day critical and valuable assets. We ask your support in preserving
them for the future. Please share our comments with the Board of Supervisors.
Thank you for your consideration.
Gat,`
Mark Carlson
Nancy Carlson
6 Grove Street
Minneapolis MN 55401
