5 August 1999
Burnett County Zoning Administration
7410 County Road K, #102
Siren, Wisconsin 54872
Dear Mr Flanigan
Enclosed you will find the application, plot plan and building plan for the dwelling we are
proposing to build on the lot we recently purchased on Big Sand lake. We are also the
owners you recently sent out the violation notice to because the shed we recently built
was within the OHM setback. As discussed when I contacted you, we transferred the
shoreline 75' straight back when we determined the location of the shed which we have
now learned was incorrect as you measure from the shortest distance. We will be moving
the shed back to comply with the OHM setback as soon as we can line up the materials
and manpower to raise it up and move it back. It should be done within the next 2
months.
We also need to advise you that prior to locating the intended building on the site, we
needed to locate a possible building foundation on the site to eliminate any conflicts. So
some minor quantities of dirt were moved around to confirm we didn't have any conflicts.
We don't mean to look presumptuous on proceeding prior to obtaining your approval, we
just wanted to make sure we didn't have any filled basements. Turns out it was just
sitting on blocks.
An existing sand point well exists on the property from the prior building that was burnt
down. It is in the way of the new septic system layout so it will be either pulled or
properly abandoned and the pit filled in. Neighbor told me there was no septic system on
my lot since it was part of a old resort. It apparently ran to common system on an
adjacent lot
We are also retaining Hopkins Sand& Gravel to install a 5 bedroom septic system in
anticipation of the future addition, so they should be pulling a permit shortly. Due to the
topography of the land, the septic location was pretty well determined, so we started
clearing out the trees in anticipation of them starting upon your approval. We hope to
have the septic system go in at the same time the foundation would be dug.
We also dropped a couple of trees in the driveway area to widen it for the fire truck
requirement.
