8/5/22, 11:26 AM Burnett County,WI Code of Ordinances <br /> ARTICLE XXIV. - OTHER NONCONFORMING USES AND STRUCTURES <br /> Sec. 45-481. - Other nonconforming structures. <br /> The existing lawful use of a structure or premises which is compliant with shoreland setbacks, but is not <br /> in conformance with other provisions of the Burnett County Ordinances may be continued subject to the <br /> following conditions: <br /> (1) No structural addition to any nonconforming structure over the life of the structure shall <br /> exceed 50 percent of its building envelope, or the replacement of more than 50 percent of its <br /> structural components, and may not increase the nonconformity, unless a variance <br /> permitting expansion beyond 50 percent of its building envelope or replacement of more <br /> than 50 percent of its structural components, or an increase in its nonconformity, is <br /> successfully obtained. <br /> (2) Discontinued nonconforming use. If a nonconforming use is discontinued for a period of 12 <br /> months, any future use of the building, structure or property shall conform to this chapter <br /> and all other Burnett County Ordinance provisions. <br /> (3) Uses or adjuncts thereof which are nuisances shall not be permitted to continue as <br /> nonconforming uses. <br /> (Res.
