Positions of the
government lot corners on the section line between sections 14 & 23
were also established by proportion and placed on the line between
the nearest government corners.
2) A diligent search was made for the center quarter corner of
Section 14. The point falls in a wet swamp with much floating
vegetation . No occupation or evidence of Bailey's 1916 survey could
be found. The center quarter corner position was reestablished at
the point of intersection of straight lines running between the east
and west quarter corners and the north quarter corner and the
theoretical south quarter corner position of Section 14.
3) Point #1 represents the meander corner position based on a found
oak tree thought to be a witness tree marked by Darius Connor in
1941 . Record of that survey can be found in the office of the County
Surveyor in Book 5, Page 439. We were not allowed to cut into the
tree to verify it .
c N&Nzw
THOMAS E.
SWENSON
s
y { WEBSTER,
WISCONSIN
Tljmnar.2/ &Venf
SNE.FT / OF ¢
