I am unclear, however as to how you came to your conclusion that
the material removed was not bog. These large pieces were bog that had
floated from the east side of the lake and were noted to have done so by
numerous lake residents. This happened before I purchased the property.
Prior to their removal, I inspected the area and saw that there was in fact
several feet of open water between these pieces and the actual shoreline,
clearly indicating that these were not part of any original shoreline. It may be
confusing at this point to look at the shoreline as there is in fact some reed and
cattail growth that is part of the shoreline.
In any case, we will pursue cleaning up the area as you suggested. On a
separate issue, we have had recent blow-down of trees and branches along the
shoreline and I want to make sure these can be removed per your approval.
Most of the blow-down appears to be partial trees or large branches. Should
you need to inspect these first, I would be pleased to have you do so.
Thanks again for your help in both of these matters.
Sincerely,
Arthur W. Ide, III, M.D.
AWI/cmb
