.5861 Prairie Ridge Drive Shoreview, MN 55126-5008 Tuesday, March 20'h, 2001 Mr. Mel Ferguson M&K Septic and Excavation N6228 County Line Road Spooner, WI 54801 Dear Mel, I had a telephone conversation with Jim Flanagan about a month ago and I described what I planned to do in regards to building. He suggested I go ahead with my plans and so I have been working with Al Kempin and Laura Alton at Lamperts of Spooner and have developed plans for a new lake home. I recognize that I have only about 214 feet of lake front and that 150 feet is needed for each home. My plan is to build a new home between my existing main cottage and guest cottage but with proper set-back. After the new home is completed, both of the existing cottages would be demolished. Jim Flanagan said that seemed fine. I am enclosing two sets of plans of what we planto do. The new lake home will be 30'x36' plus an 8' deck across the front and partway along the south side. The front deck must beset back at least 78' from the ordinary high water mark to allow for steps from the deck to ground level. I will plan to be at the lake property sometime during the next couple of weeks to stake out where that should be. I want you to represent me and make the necessary application to Jim Flannagan and the zoning commission. When we have approval, I want you to locate the underground telephone lines, power fines, sewer system and gas lines. Then,I want you to excavate the area for footings for the new lake home. There will be a number of trees to take down. One is a maple which will eventually make good firewood. The remainder are pine which will have to be disposed of somehow. I will not use that for firewood. A clump of birch trees is very close to the north side of the proposed structure and may have to be removed, too. Can the sewer from the old main cottage be redirected to the new septic system until construction is complete? The existing drainfield for the old sewer is between the clothes line posts and will be right under the new house. Based on what you told me last fall,the sewer line for the new cottage can be directed to the new septic system. What have I forgotten? I will be glad to come up any time to answer any questions you might have. I will probably be moving up there and be there on a regular basis by mid-April but I think it is important that we get started on the application before then.
