Thank you for providing me with application materials. I am providing these comments in place of making an appearance in person. Please have them delivered to and/or read before the LUIC. DeCook Conditional Use Permit Request The department supports the statements under the "Staff concerns to resolve" section of the County Staff Report for this request, and recommends including as conditions of a granted permit, if one is granted, the following: * The sanitary system must be rated for the amount of proposed guests (which according to the applicant's letter would be 18 people), AND * The full shoreline vegetation buffer must be brought into full compliance. Please note that these comments are in regard to shoreland zoning only, and do not reflect applicable erosion control, waterway permitting, or other department regulations. Ehalt Conditional Use Permit Request The department supports the statements under the "Staff concerns to resolve" section of the County Staff Report for this request, and recommends including as conditions of a granted permit, if one is granted, the following: * If more than two guests are to be allowed to rent the bunkhouse at any given time, the sanitary system must be upgraded to handle the amount of proposed guests, AND * Since wetlands are on the parcel, no wetlands are to be discharged to and/or disturbed. Engelhardt Subdivision Variance Request Provided the LUIC finds the applicant has demonstrated meeting the three required variance criteria, the department has no comment.
