Campground definitions <br /> Washburn: a publicly or privately owned parcel of land that has a valid permit issued under Wis. Stats. § <br /> 254.47 and Wis. Admin. Code ch. ATCP 79, if applicable, open to the general public, with or without a <br /> daily fee that is used primarily for the purpose of providing camping sites for use by camping units.A <br /> campground may also provide resort units containing dwelling units. <br /> Buffalo: Any parcel or tract of land owned by a person, state or a local government, which is designed, <br /> maintained, intended or used for the purpose of providing sites and other amenities for camping units <br /> for temporary overnight use,with or without charge. <br /> Door: Any parcel or tract of land which is designed, maintained, intended or used for the purpose of <br /> providing camp sites offered with or without charge for temporary overnight sleeping accommodations <br /> by 4 or more camping units, or by any number of camping units if the parcel or tract of land is <br /> represented as a campground. <br /> Sawyer: A privately or municipally owned site designed, designated, maintained, intended, or used for <br /> the purpose of supplying a location for major recreational equipment/vehicles,open to the public for <br /> free or paying camping purposes <br /> Marathon:A parcel of land that contains sites for temporary occupancy of tents,travel trailers, motor <br /> homes and other recreational vehicles, or which contains cabins or similar structures for temporary use. <br /> A campground may be improved with water, sewer, or septic utilities, and/or electricity, or may be <br /> "rustic," with minimal utilities and facilities. <br /> Vilas: any of the following: <br /> (A) Primitive Campground means two or more sites owned by a person, state or local <br /> government designated, maintained, intended or used for the purpose of supplying a location for <br /> overnight camping where locations are accessible by canoe, boat or by hiking, but not by campers' <br /> motor vehicles.Such areas open to the public and designated as usable by the public as primitive <br /> campground areas may be set aside for free or pay camping purposes. <br /> (B) Developed campground and camping resort means any parcel or tract of land of five acres or <br /> more, containing two or more sites, and owned by a person, state or local government accessible by <br /> automobile,or other engine driven vehicle designed, maintained, intended or used for the purpose of <br /> supplying accommodations for overnight use,open to the public and designated as a developed camp <br /> area and set aside for free or paying camping purposes. <br /> (C) Walk-in Camp means a facility equivalent to a developed campground or camping resort of <br /> two or more sites except that it is not accessible by campers' motor driven vehicles. <br /> Notes: <br /> Questions to be answered in the definition: <br /> Are campgrounds to be for temporary use/occupancy? <br /> Do you want all campgrounds open to the public? <br />
