Describe variance requested: <br /> We are requesting a variance to expand the footprint of the existing cabin to include a <br /> small covered porch to provide weather protection for the cabin entrance. Currently there <br /> is a 3' x 12' concrete landing and stairs extending on the beach side (south) of the cabin. <br /> This structure would be eliminated and replaced with an 10' x 20' covered porch on the <br /> west side of the cabin. <br /> Describe current use and improvements(Ex.Residential/Recreation; Cabin/garage): <br /> In the spring of 2022 the main residence on the property was destroyed by fire. As a <br /> result, the Primary use of the property is during the summer months for recreation. The <br /> property has two cabins and a garage. <br /> Provide description and location of all nonconforming structures and uses on the property: <br /> There are two cabins close to the lake. <br /> Provide Burnett�unty Ordinanc stagdard from which v 'mice is ing sought(section number and text): <br /> �S— 2 9 3 is ( c4c Pe'u s ion <br /> Alternatives: (To be completed by the applicant): <br /> Describe alternatives to your proposal such as other locations, designs, and construction techniques. Examples of <br /> alternatives would be: reducing the size of request, moving the structure to a different area,or expanding upward instead <br /> of laterally. Attach a site map showing alternatives you considered in each category below. <br /> a. Alternatives you considered that comply with existing standards. If you find such an alternative,you can move <br /> forward with this option with a regular permit. If you reject compliant alternatives, provide the reasons you <br /> rejected them. <br /> Unfortunately, the location and footprint of the replacement cabin are dictated by the <br /> grandfathered cabin. The lake side door will be relocated from its existing location <br /> (south) of the cabin to the west of the cabin. A possible alternative would be a <br /> cantilevered overhang, but this also would require a variance to modify the footprint <br /> b. Alternatives you considered that require a lesser variance and reasons you rejected them.
