I even chatted briefly with the neighbor who took an interest in keeping an eye on
the plants and letting Weiss know if he thinks the transplants could use more water in the event of their absence
in the future.
Having worked primarily in Polk County, it is my desire to touch base with all of you to help ensure that all
parties involved have met the objectives. I very much enjoyed Weiss candor as well as working with the
extended family and neighbors as we walked the property, identified plants, talked about the value of native
plantings and worked together to complete this project.
Please let us know if this work will resolve the matter from the DNR and clear the Weiss of further concerns
with a zoning citation. It is my hope that their concerns can be eased and they can just look forward to enjoying
watching this native shoreline grow, create cleaner water, foster increased habitat, and serve to stabilize their
shoreline in the future on their Green Lake property.
1
