A narrative could cost considerably less than a detailed H&H provided
the justification for no private impacts are addressed. It appears there is private land directly adjacent to the crossing
and likely the floodplain will remain very wide and possibly still overtop the road based on the map. Due to possible
private land impacts, it would be wise to have the Town look into an engineers opinion on possible impacts.
Thanks,
Jacob Druffner
Phone:(715)461-0159
jacob.druffner@wisconsin.gov
We are committed to service excellence.
Visit our survey at http://dnr.wi.gov/customersurvey to evaluate how I did.
From:Towne,Jason<Jason.Towne@BurnettCountyWl.gov>
Sent: Monday, September 11, 2023 9:36 AM
To: Druffner,Jacob D- DNR<jacob.druffner@wisconsin.gov>
Cc: Cronk,Amy L- DNR<Amy.Cronk@wisconsin.gov>; chairman@townofwoodriver.org
Subject: N Fossum Rd -Town of Wood River
CAUTION: This email originated from outside the organization.
Do not click links or o•en attachments unless ou reco•nize the sender and know the content is safe.
Hi Jacob,
Question on a culvert replacement on N Fossum Rd—North Fork Wood River. Zone A floodplain. The road has washed
out from flooding 3-4 times in the last 20 years. Can they upsize the culvert without doing a floodstudy?
The culvert downstream at County Rd D has not washed out for these times that N Fossum has washed out. The large
wetland complex between N Fossum Rd and County Rd D likely stores the flood water.
Thanks,
Pad"
Jason Towne
i
