Currently those parcels are zoned W-1, which no longer allows a campground, not even with a CUP. (it did
allow for camping in 2016 with a CUP). Just keep operating as you are, since it did start before the elimination of
camping in W-1. You are considered a "gandfathered" use.
If you want to add more sites then this will be the steps:
1- Will need a rezone from W-1 to F-1. Not sure if you want to do just the parcel(s) with the campground or the
entire 1,500+/-acres in that block. (most of the county forest land is zoned F-1, so you might want to change it
all to be consistent with your other properties)
2- Will need a CUP.
So no need to do anything at this time. Once you decide that you want to add more sites, then we would go through the
Rezone and CUP process.
Thanks,
From:Tollander, Susan <Susan.Tollander@BurnettCountyWl.gov>
Sent:Thursday, October 12, 2023 9:19 AM
To:Towne,Jason<Jason.Towne@ BurnettCountyWl.gov>
Cc: Nichols,Jason<Jason.Nichols@BurnettCountyWl.gov>
Subject: RE: Campsites
Hi Jason,
I just reviewed the files I have for Keizer, and I'm not finding a state license. The state campground license we have just
covers the camper cabin.
I wasn't aware we needed a CUP for the campsites—please see the attached correspondence from 2016.
Please let me know what steps you need us to take in order to address these issues.
Thank you,
Susie
SRSAW TOLLAwater
1
