-12/1 23, 11:10AM Burnett County,WI Code of Ordinances <br /> Sec. 30-540. - Salvage yards. <br /> No salvage yard as defined herein shall be permitted in the county except in conformance with the <br /> standards, rules and regulations of the Wisconsin Administrative Code and the requirements herein specified. <br /> (1) Application required. An application is required prior to issuance of a conditional use permit for <br /> a salvage yard. This application requesting county land use and information committee approval <br /> of a proposed salvage yard activity shall be accompanied by: <br /> a. A description of all phases of the contemplated operation including types of machinery and <br /> equipment, which will or might be necessary to carry on the operation. <br /> b. A legal description of the proposed site. <br /> c. A location map showing all adjacent land use. <br /> (2) Consideration of compatibility. In reviewing a proposal for a salvage yard, the county land use <br /> and information committee shall take into consideration: <br /> a. The effect of the proposed operation on existing land uses. <br /> b. The possibilities of noise, smoke, dust and other factors common to a salvage yard. <br /> c. The most suitable land use for the area. <br /> (3) Conditions for approval. The county land use and information committee may set forth <br /> conditions regarding appropriate setback and other dimensional requirements, particularly with <br /> reference to avoiding a nuisance effect on surrounding residential uses. <br /> a. All salvage yards shall have minimum front, side and rear yards of 100 feet. <br /> b. Salvage yards shall be screened in accordance with article VII of this chapter. <br /> (4) Existing salvage yard operations. <br /> a. Within 60 days after the effective date of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived, <br /> the owners of all existing salvage yard operations shall submit to.the county land use and <br /> information committee the names of the salvage yard owners and operators and <br /> information regarding its operation. This shall include all persons possessing salvageable <br /> materials excepting those stored within the confines of a building. <br /> b. Within one year after adoption of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived, the <br /> owners shall submit to the county land use and information committee a plan for making <br /> their salvage yard comply with the provisions of this chapter. <br /> c. Within two years after the effective date of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived, <br /> any such existing operation shall be subject to the provisions. <br /> (Res.
