As we
discussed the permit conditions and limitations are in place to protect the scenic and biological
integrity of the lake and its important shallow water shoreline areas.
Upon inspection I observed that the larger, 38 to 42 inch diameter boulders were removed and
boulders 28 inches in diameter and less remained along the shoreline area adjacent to the south side of
the pier and steps. These smaller boulders do meet the conditions of the permit you were granted on
August 6, 1996. The rocks and fill placed behind them still extended lakeward well beyond the limits
authorized in your permit, also filter fabric was not installed as shown on your application, however I
agreed that the riprap could remain in place to prevent additional disturbance caused by any attempt
by you to move them back.
We also agreed that the following work would be completed prior to September 15, 1997;
- the soil, primarily sand, pushed onto the steep slope adjacent to the lake would be leveled using
hand tools only.
- no top soil would be placed on the slope due to the past erosion and stabilization problems on your
projects.
- Sod would be placed on this raw slope area and properly staked, watered and maintained.
- Small trap rock already on site could be placed between the washed out stair treads adjacent to the
lake.
- The upland erosion issues would be resolved through cooperation with Jim Flanagan, County Zoning
Administrator and this work would be done prior to September 15, 1997 in order to establish proper
vegetation growth prior to the end of the growing season.
Quality Natural Resources Management
Through Excellent Customer Service
Ru 6<
v"r
