BURNETT COUNTY
LAND & WATER CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT
7410 County Road K.#109
Siren,WI 54872
Telephone:(715)349-2186 Fax: (715)349-2102
June 10, 2002
Bill Vaughan
9467 Dunham Lake Drive SURNE
Siren, WI 54872 ZONING UNy
Dear Mr. Vaughan,
After viewing the property located at 9467 Dunham Lake Drive, I advise that adequate
erosion control steps be taken during the construction of the garage. Before construction
begins, correctly install a silt fence along your property line between the proposed garage
and the property line. See Attachment A. Erosion Control Plan and Attachment B.
Installing a Silt Fence. During construction, maintain the silt fence. The silt fence should
remain in place until construction is finished and a vegetative cover is established on all
exposed soil.
After the excavation is complete, a seed (annual rye grass - can be purchased at a co-op)
and mulch cover must be placed on any disturbed/exposed soil to prevent erosion. This
includes any stockpiled soil, the excavation area, and any areas where soil was disturbed
by machinery. Straw mulch should be placed two inches thick in these areas. Mulch will
hold in moisture and help prevent soil detachment during rain events. Also, any area that
has over a 10% slope should be netted with an erosion control blanket.
If you have any questions, call me at (715) 485-8642 between the hours of 8:00 AM and
4:30 PM.
Sincerely,
,r
/G'
Carol Fagerlin
Water Quality Specialist
Cc: Burnett County Zoning Department
