Burnett County Land and Water Conservation Department
7410 County Road K,#109
Siren,WI 54872
Telephone#(715)349-2186
Fax#(715)349-2102
June 27, 2007
Kelly and Shawn Brown
5732 Elliot Avenue S
Minneapolis, MN 55417
Dear Kelly and Shawn:
Burnett County ordinance requires shoreline buffer restoration as a condition of the
variance and land use permit for the construction of a dwelling at 28281 Johnson Lake
Road in Burnett County. The deadline for the restoration will be June 30, 2008.
The zoning office requires an agreement that specifies your shoreline will b maintained
according to Burnett County ordinance and standards for the vegetation protection area.
The agreement must be signed, notarized, and registered in order to receive the land
use permit for the dwelling. The Burnett County Register of Deed's address is the same
as above, except that the room is #140. The telephone number is 715-349-21.83. You will
pay an $11 fee to register a one-page document, and $2 for each additional page.
Once the restoration is well established, your property would also be eligibl to enroll in
the Shoreline Incentives Program. This program offers property tax and other incentives
for establishing a buffer of native vegetation along the water. A brochure describing the
program is enclosed for your information.
If you have concerns or questions about the restoration requirements, please call me at
715-268-9992 or Dave Ferris at 715-349-2186. I would be happy to discuss the plan on
the telephone or meet you at the property.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Clemens
Shoreline Restoration Consultant
cc: Dave Ferris, County Conservationist
Jim Flanigan, Zoning Administrator
