Gerst Variance Application Burnett County October, 29, 2011
The unique property limitations are the property dimensions due to its location
between Yellow River Road and the Yellow River and the fact that there is very little [arid to
work with on this narrow two acre property.
As for unnecessary hardship we are asking for a permit to build a garage which
is an allowed use on our property. Currently the property is a part-time recreational cabin
and we intend to make it our permanent home in the near future. The proposed building is
necessary for storage of vehicles and additional space. We are seeking approval for a
building site of at least 24'x 48'.
We will construct sift fences to prevent runoff towards the river during the period
of construction to prevent erosion. We will be removing no more trees than necessary to
construct the building and provide access to the garage as well as a 30 foot maximum
viewing corridor allowed in section 4.4(2)a.
Building plans will be emailed to the Burnett County Zoning office by our architect.
These show the plan requiring a variance and a plan that would not require a variance,
but the later appears to be substantially more expensive, blocks the view from our
recently built bathhouse, and may require relocation of our well.
Sincerely,
ahs
Thomas Gerst
