All work will have to be done by hand and the tram system
will need to be utilized to bring in and remove materials. The existing retaining walls are in very poor shape and need
to be removed or replaced soon. Vegetation will be stable at a 2:1 slope. Steeper slopes do not support vegetation
very well, and erosion occurs. Most of the bank where the tramp is located is steeper than 2:1,which requires special
efforts to be made to maximize the vegetation on the slope. Soil disturbing activities must be kept to a minimum
Given this information,it is necessaryto replace part of the large retaining wall and the mid-sized walls. Remove the
small retaining walls, fill to original grade, seed, mulch, and net. (Enclosed is list of recommended vegetation.) The
retaining walls that are replaced must have a drainage system and proper anchoring. A"typical" drawing of a retaining
wall is enclosed to show how to install the drainage system behind it. Follow manufacturers'specification when
installing, and use their recommendations for anchoring and drainage. Please pay particular attention to their height
recommendations.
Enclosed is an erosion control plan. The silt fence and straw bales must be in place before beginning any work and
shall remain in place until vegetation is well established. Also, contact the Burnett County Zoning Department before
beginning any work on the site to obtain any necessary permits.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at(715) 485-8630.
Sincerely,
tjL'i Tl " ?
rZalar
eering Technician
Burnett County Land&Water Conservation Department
cc: Mr.David Ferris,Burnett Land and Water Conservation Department"
V'lr.Jim Flanigan,Burnett County Land Use and Zoning Administration
V
