State of Wisconsin 1 DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
SPOONER RANGER STATION
WISCONSIN P.O. Box 160
DEPT. OF NATURAL RESOURCESCj619267
Spooner, Wisconsin 54801
TELEPHONE 715-635-4097
  TELEFAX 715-635-4012
April 12, 1995 3500
NW-C2811
Karen Morris
5206 Scott Street
Schofield, WI 54476
Dear Ms. Morris:
As requested, on April 6, 1995 Zoning Administrator Jim Flanigan and I visited your
property on Tabor Lake in Burnett County.
We observed the following:
1. A minor erosion problem adjacent to the undermined trees. As previously
stated I would recommend maintaining the trees as long as possible and possibly
protecting them with riprap along the shoreline.
2. The area of shoreline with rocks and concrete slabs appears quite stable.
The concrete slabs and pieces and the stumps can be removed without any permit or
further approvals. Regrading the area especially along the shoreline will only
promote the chance of erosion. Grading in this area is regulated by Burnett County
Zoning, contact Jim Flanigan, Zoning Administrator, 349-2138 if you have additional
questions regarding grading. A pier or removable steps (no permit or approval
needed, see attached "Pier Planner") could be used in this area to gain easy access
to the water.
3. Much of the area adjacent to the boathouse looks as though it has been
filled over the years. The muskrat burrows above the water can be filled and
leveled but no fill can be placed in the wetland or water.
4. I would recommend planting trees native to this region and specifically
those suited to high ground water conditions. There are a number of such species
listed in the University Extension brochure I sent previously. Again, nor permits
or approvals required.
In general, we concur with observations and recommendations given to you previously.
You can contact me at the above phone number or address if you have any additional
questions.
Sincerely,
John Haack
Water Management Specialist G 14p)?
Jl 31
99
Jim Flanigan, Zoning
Ed Slaminski, CBL
