BURNETT COUNTY ZONING ADMINISTRATION <br /> BURNETT COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER <br /> 7410 County Road K,#102 Phone (715) 349-2138 <br /> Siren, Wisconsin 54872 <br /> December 21, 2007 <br /> Jon Brudeseth <br /> N3208 840'"Street <br /> Hager City,WI 54014 <br /> Dear Mr. Brudeseth: <br /> On 10-25-99 our office issued Permit#23379 to John and Kristi Gustafson for a 14x18 (252 square-foot) <br /> utility shed on their property at 28950 East Yellow River Road. <br /> In April 2007 you came into our office requesting a permit to make alterations to the cabin you had <br /> recently purchased. Our records indicated there was no permit for a cabin, but for a shed only. Also, we <br /> have no record of a sanitary permit. <br /> Our office is unable to issue a permit for change of use to a cabin or bunkhouse, as the size is non- <br /> conforming for what we allow. The structure size allowed for an independent bunkhouse must be a <br /> maximum of 250 square feet and plumbing is prohibited inside the structure (however, a privy permit <br /> would be necessary). As it is not part of an accessory structure, it cannot qualify for this second type of <br /> bunkhouse option. There is a 500 square-foot minimum requirement for a dwelling with 1 bedroom, and <br /> additional square footage required for more than 1 bedroom. I'm attaching information from <br /> A sanitary permit is required before a permit can be issued for any structure that will be permanently or <br /> intermittently intended for human habitation or occupancy. <br /> Anyone can apply for a variance, but the likelihood depends on the unnecessary hardship reason for <br /> requesting it. There does not appear to be a hardship, as far as a reason to change the use of this structure <br /> from a utility shed to a non-conforming structure used for sleeping quarters. <br /> Also,as previously discussed,the structure would need to meet the requirements of the Uniform Dwelling <br /> Code. <br /> The use of this structure is currently in violation of Section 9.2(1)of the Burnett County Land Ordinance. <br /> Please contact our office to discuss this matter or if you have additional questions. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Jim Flanigan V <br /> Burnett County Zoning Administrator <br /> JF:jn <br /> Encl. <br />
