BURNETT COUNTY ZONING ADMINISTRATION
BURNETT COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER
7410 COUNTY ROAD K,#102 PHONE(715)349-2138
SIREN,WISCONSIN 54872
MEMORANDUM
TO: Alex Young
FROM: Craig Conroy YY%✓✓//
RE: Conditions for Stair Permit at 30863 Tabor Lake Drive
We have reviewed the proposed plans for the stairway to access Tabor Lake at
your property at 30863 Tabor Lake Drive, located in Gov. Lot 5, Section 17,
T41N R16W, Town of Swiss. The stairway/walkway can be constructed as
proposed, subject to the following conditions:
• The stairway must terminate at a point above the Ordinary High Water
Mark of Tabor Lake. No disturbance of the bank of the lake at or below
the OHWM is allowed under this permit.
• The stairway/walkway is not to exceed four feet in width.
• The surface of the stairway/walkway is to be at, or above, original grade to
maintain lateral water shedding capability from the new surface.
• A 40 square foot landing area can be permitted, but only in a location
that will not require the construction of a new retaining wall within
the shoreline setback area, that will be higher than the minimal grade
retaining needed along the uphill side of the stairway. The Shoreland
section of the Burnett County Land Use ordinance prohibits retaining
walls within the shoreline setback area, unless approved by the Land and
Water Conservation Department as the only means of protection from
erosion.
