Management Plans - Holding Tanks <br /> The Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment System(POWTS)has been designed,and is to be installed and maintained according to <br /> Comm 83, Wis. Admin.Code, Holding Tank Component Manual for Private Onsite Wastewater Systems. <br /> 1. This POWTS has been designed to accomodate a maximum daily flow of 9410 gallons of domestic wastewater per day. <br /> 2. The owner of this POWTS is responsible for system operation and maintenance,locking device, alar and access. <br /> 3. The owner or owner's agent is required to submit reports as required by s.Comm 83.55(1),Wis. Adm.Code to the county or other <br /> appropriate jurisdiction and/or the department.. <br /> 4. Design approval and site inspections before, during, and after the construction are accomplished by the county or other <br /> appropriate jurisdiction in accordance with ch.Comm 83 of the Wis.Adm.Code. <br /> 5. Meter installation. Comm 83 no longer requires water meters to be installed for holding tanks. <br /> 6. Alar installation.The alar float is set to tum on the alar when liquid volume is at 12'below tank inlet invert or at 90%of <br /> the liquid capacity of the tank below the tank inlet invert.Alar wiring is installed in accordance with NEC 300 and ILHR 16.23, <br /> Wis.Adm.Code. <br /> 7. Maintenance cycle. The holding tank must be serviced by licensed pumpers. An alar system is installed to activate when <br /> the tank is c-90%full.Water conservation should be practiced at this point. <br /> 8. Performance monitoring. At the time of servicing, the service provider files a report with the department or designated agent. <br /> 9. Anytime a failure or malfunction occurs, it shall be reported to the person(s)identified in the user's manual for this POWTS. <br /> 10. No one should enter a holding tank for any reason without being in full compliance with OSHA standards for entering a <br /> confined space.The atmosphere within these tanks may contain lethal gases, and rescue of a person from the interior <br /> of the tank may be difficult or impossible. <br /> 11. In the event that this POWTS or a component of the POWTS fails and cannot be repaired,it must be replaced. <br /> 12. If this POWTS is replaced or its use discontinued, it shall be abandoned in accordance with Comm 83.33 Wis. Admin. Code. <br /> Contingency Plan - Holding Tanks <br /> To ensure public health,safety and minimize envionmental impact,a contingency plan will be followed if necessary.
