Recently there have been legislative changes in <br />the rules regarding when a permit is needed for rock riprap along a shoreline. Permits are <br />required if the project is in a lake or stream or an area of a lake or stream that is designated as an <br />ASNRI water (area of special natural resource interest). Birch Island Lake is not designated <br />ASNRI and it appears from the plans you have submitted that you will meet the exemption criteria <br />and a permit would not be required for your project.
