Provide description of any prior petition for appeal, variance, or conditional use for this parcel:
None
Type of variance requested (applicant, check one):
❑ Use Variance — permits a landowner to put a property to an otherwise prohibited use
Area Variance — provides an increment of relief (normally small) from a physical/dimensional restriction such as a
building height or setback
Describe the effects on therp opertX if the variance is not granted:
This is an incredible site with beautiful homes on contiguous sites with similar setbacks and
elevations. Our family and our our neighbors (who are our friends of 15 plus years) would love to
see a permanent structure here rather than a camper. With out this variance we will have a
significant oss ot value and loss ot our intentions to one day build on this site. It current
Part B: Three -Step Test
(Please use additional paper if necessar})
To qualify for a variance, the applicant must demonstrate that their property meets the following three requirements.
Unique property limitations (Item I to be completed by the applicant)
Unique, physical limitations of the property, such as steep slopes or wetlands, which are not generally shared by
other properties, must prevent compliance with ordinance requirements. The circumstances of an applicant
(growing family, need for a larger garage, etc.) are not a factor in deciding variances. Nearby ordinance
violations, prior variances, or lack of objections from neighbors do not provide a basis for granting a variance.
Property limitations that prevent ordinance compliance and are common to a number of properties should be
addressed by amending the ordinance. List the unique property limitations:
The existing parcel was created and developed prior to the ordinance The existing parcel
has limited area due to wetland and overlapping road setbacks. The structure will not be any
closer to the road (at 36' set back request on one corner) than other existing structures.
etbacks will be greater Man others along this rarely used I 9i wide road. Old 35 is reanTa
cabin read now with limited use. It's ovet-ears olud and at one time was "Lille on! road to
Siren- The highway was moverl to the hack of the lot many years ago which also ra.reLy-
used. Now we have the new 70 out toward the golf course
Page 4 of 9
Burnett County, WI Variance Application - Rev 1/2017
