Date: 23 January 1984 <br />NOTICE TO POSTMASTER: In Reply Refer to: Section: <br />It is requested that this Public Notice <br />be conspicuously and continuously posted <br />until expiration of this notice. NCSCO-RF (84-156-23) 404 <br />1. APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO DISCHARGE DREDGED MATERIAL. George and Phyllis <br />Norgren propose to discharge dredged material into a wetland adjacent to the <br />North Fork of the Clam River as part of a project to construct a trout pond. <br />The pond would measure 60 feet by 110 feet by 8 feet deep and would have an <br />overflow outlet. A total of 981 cubic yards of material would be excavated <br />to create the pond. Approximately 350 cubic yards of this material would be <br />used to create a berm around three sides of the pond. The berm would have a <br />top width of 6 feet and would rise approximately 3 feet above the wetland. <br />The sideslopes of the berm would be approximately 3:1. The excavated material <br />not placed in the wetland to make the berm would be deposited on the upland area <br />immediately west of the pond. The berm would be mulched and seeded according <br />to the specifications of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the <br />U.S. Soil Conservation Service. <br />APPLICANT'S ADDRESS: 3660 Independence Ave. So. <br />#61 Rockwell <br />Minneapolis, Minnesota 55426 <br />PHONE NUMBER: (612) 935-6514 <br />PROJECT LOCATION: The project site is located approximately one mile east <br />of County Road B on Spencer Lake Road in the SW 4 NW 4 section 27, township 38 <br />N., range 15 W., Burnett County, Wisconsin. <br />FILL AREA: The area covered by the berm would be approximately 5,000 square <br />feet. <br />VEGETATION IN AFFECTED AREA: The area in which the excavated material would <br />be placed is a wetland complex containing vegetation typical to scrub/shrub <br />(broad-leaved deciduous) and emergent/wet meadow (narrow -leaved persistent) <br />wetlands. <br />METHOD OF DREDGING OR EXCAVATION: Mechanical excavation using a dragline <br />and loader. <br />IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROJECT, call Henrik Strandskov at the Corps of <br />Engineers, (612) 725-7775. <br />PLANS AND DRAWINGS submitted by the applicant are attached to this notice. <br />2.
