Upon inspection I found that a trail
had been constructed across lakebed to an island. The trail had recently been seeded and some new
grasses had begun to germinate. The filling of lakebed is prohibited by statute and a violation of Chapter
30 of the State Statutes. It also appeared that some violations of the Burnett County Zoining ordinance
had occurred.
Because the filling is a violation of Chapter 30 and it is not something we would issue a permit for I am
asking that the fill be removed by September 30, 2003. Please contact me at 715-635-4097 as soon as
possible so we can discuss the neat course of action to get the fill removed and the site stabilized before
freeze-up,
Sincerely
Ed Slaminski
Water Management Specialist
CC: Warden Paul Martin
Burnett co Zoning
www.dnr.state.wi.us Quality Natural Resources Management
WWW.wisconsin.gov Through Excellent Customer Service Pnrded on
Recycled
Paper
