The optimal identification period for this species is late July through early <br />September. <br />Snail -seed Pondweed (Potamogeton bicupulatus), a Wisconsin Special Concern plant, is found in <br />acidic waters. Blooming occurs from June through October. The optimal identification period for <br />this species is late July through late September. <br />Torrey's Bulrush (Schoenop/ectus torreyl), a Wisconsin Special Concern plant, is found on the <br />sandy shores of shallow lakes and lagoons. Blooming occurs late June through late July; fruiting <br />occurs throughout August. The optimal identification period for this species is early July through <br />late August. <br />Waterway BMPs <br />The municipality and/or the contractor must follow best management practices (BMPs) to protect <br />water quality. The municipality is responsible for ensuring the project meets BMP standards before, <br />during and after construction. A copy of water quality BMPs is attached to this letter. <br />Inspections <br />The Department conducts routine inspections and may follow up to inspect your project to verify <br />compliance with state statutes and codes.
