Sorry for the delay in getting you the information/pictures. We are hopeful that we can work with you in achieving what the owner wants on his property while doing what is best in protecting the quality of Lake 26 that everyone has become accustom to. The owners tore down an old cabin that sat @50' from the OHWM on a hump sloping towards the lake. They are hopeful to build a new cabin on a slab 75' from he OHWM. In order to do this we would need to start excavation @35' from the OHWM. This would allow us to set the cabin back the required 75' and assure proper drainage away from the lake. Owners are willing to maintain the current buffer zone as well as take all precaution to assure nothing will wash into the lake including silt fence and getting new vegetation planted and stabilized right away to prevent any washing. Below are pictures of the site currently and as you can see there is a hump @50' from water where the old cabin sat. The owners are hopeful you will allow them to start excavation where proposed since they will be taking an old cabin that sat 50' away and replacing with a new structure 75' away to meet regulation. Also as stated above this will also help divert drainage from the lake, currently the hump causes most run off to head to the lake. I will send you a rough sketch as it would not attach with the picture. Of course you will receive a more accurate plan when I apply for the building permit.
