Page 2
Mr. Vasatka explained the following on April 30, 2018:
• Took full responsibility for all actions in the demolition and removal of the Webster Motel building.
• The Village of Webster inquired as to what he was going to do with the Webster Motel building.
• He did not get the proper pre -inspection for asbestos.
• He did not discuss any asbestos requirements with Mr. Taylor.
• Decided to dump all of the demolished materials to private property on Black Brook Road since he was
going to have the private house on that property demolished as well.
During both conferences we discussed options for abating and cleaning up the demolition materials at both the
Webster Motel site and Black Brook Road site. Mr. Vasatka submitted an after -the -fact demolition notification to
the department as required.
After the conferences multiple discussions occurred between the department and Mr. Vasatka and Mr. Taylor
regarding the clean-up of both sites. Mr. Vasatka contracted with ARS to perform the remaining abatement and
clean-up activities at the Webster Motel site and Mr. Taylor cleaned -up all remaining demolition materials at the
Black Brook Road site. The department inspected both sites on September 25, 2018 and determined that both
sites were adequately cleaned -up. The department received, as requested, documentation relating to the
removal and proper disposal of demolition waste materials from both sites (documentation attached). At the time
of this letter, the department is waiting for one more receipt from the disposal of the remaining container from
Black Brook Road.
Based on this information, the department has decided to take no further action concerning the alleged violations
in the February 27, 2018 NOV and considers this case closed. The department reserves the right to reconsider
this decision if violations occur in the future.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 715- 365-8935.
