Burnett County Zoning Administration <br />Burnett County Government Center <br />7410 COUNTY ROAD K, #102 <br />SIREN, WISCONSIN 54872 <br />PHONE (715) 349-2138 <br />ORDER TO CORRECT LAND USE CODE VIOLATION <br />August 30, 2017 <br />HERMAN J & TINA M SMUDE <br />1939 EAGLE LN <br />SPOONER WI 54801 <br />Mr. and Mrs. Smude, <br />Enclosed with this letter you will find a citation from our office for violating the Burnett County <br />Land Use Code of Ordinances. Some of these violations occur on your property at 2404 County <br />Road A, Spooner, WI. The specific codes you are being cited for are as follows: <br />• Section 30-523 (c)(1): No sign or its structural components shall be erected or <br />temporarily placed within any road, highway, right-of-way, public easement or upon any <br />public property... <br />• Section 30-523 (f)(1, 10, and 14) Prohibited signs. All signs, other than those permitted <br />herein, shall be prohibited, including but not limited to: (1) Signs that fail to satisfy one <br />or more of the applicable regulations set forth in sections 30-523 and 30-524; (10) Off - <br />premises signs, except as allowed in sections 30-523(e), 30-525(c) and (e), and 30- <br />526(a); (14) Roof signs. <br />• Section 30-524 (a, b, and c) <br />We have noticed a drastic increase in off -premise signs placed in road right-of-ways from <br />businesses associated with the above address. No new off -premise signs are permitted in the <br />county which are used to advertise. <br />Many temporary signs at the address above fail to meet the 10' right of way setback <br />requirement. Also, there are signs placed upon the roof of one of the structures, which is <br />prohibited. Also, there is a new illuminated sign placed on the roof of a building that changes <br />images, which is also prohibited. <br />These violations need to be resolved by no later than 9/18/2017. <br />
