Burnett County Zoning Administration Burnett County Government Center 7410 COUNTY ROAD K, #102 SIREN, WISCONSIN 54872 PHONE (715) 349-2138 ORDER TO CORRECT LAND USE CODE VIOLATION August 30, 2017 HERMAN J & TINA M SMUDE 1939 EAGLE LN SPOONER WI 54801 Mr. and Mrs. Smude, Enclosed with this letter you will find a citation from our office for violating the Burnett County Land Use Code of Ordinances. Some of these violations occur on your property at 2404 County Road A, Spooner, WI. The specific codes you are being cited for are as follows: • Section 30-523 (c)(1): No sign or its structural components shall be erected or temporarily placed within any road, highway, right-of-way, public easement or upon any public property... • Section 30-523 (f)(1, 10, and 14) Prohibited signs. All signs, other than those permitted herein, shall be prohibited, including but not limited to: (1) Signs that fail to satisfy one or more of the applicable regulations set forth in sections 30-523 and 30-524; (10) Off - premises signs, except as allowed in sections 30-523(e), 30-525(c) and (e), and 30- 526(a); (14) Roof signs. • Section 30-524 (a, b, and c) We have noticed a drastic increase in off -premise signs placed in road right-of-ways from businesses associated with the above address. No new off -premise signs are permitted in the county which are used to advertise. Many temporary signs at the address above fail to meet the 10' right of way setback requirement. Also, there are signs placed upon the roof of one of the structures, which is prohibited. Also, there is a new illuminated sign placed on the roof of a building that changes images, which is also prohibited. These violations need to be resolved by no later than 9/18/2017.
