Shortly after we
last spoke, Jason at the zoning office told us the Minerva property was owned by the township. We proceeded
to get permission from the township to have our dock there. Jason was at the meeting today and said after
further review the township never completed the paperwork so its an "unclaimed" piece of land. We have also
been told its been documented through the DNR as a public landing. It seems the bottom line is, nobody
knows. We are calling Jason this afternoon to ask for a private meeting to get his thoughts on where to go from
here. We apologize for any inconviences you've had to to go through and will keep you up to date. Thank you.
Lori McCann
From: Harrington, Dan - DNR
Sent: Wednesday, May 29, 2019 9:57 AM
To: Milltown Dock
Cc: Patrick, Keith A - DNR ; McLaughlin, Kyle L - DNR ; Pedersen, Emily J - DNR
Subject: RE: Minerva Dock/pontoon
Thank you for the response, and taking the time to view the parcel. In order to legally place a pier in
Wisconsin's public waters, one must be a riparian owner. We need to see legal proof of ownership to close out
this matter.
Let us know after speaking with the real-estate attorney's mentioned below your planned course of action.
