NR 812.43 of the W is. Adm. Well Construction and pump Installation code.
Written application received complete: October 10, 2013
Well geographical location: NE '/.ofthe NE %.of Sea 14—T.39N.—R.14W.
Variance for code sections: NR 812.08(4)(c) 1.,which requires a well to be located at least 50 feet from a soil
absorption unit(septic drainfield)receiving less than 8,000 gallons per day. The proposed well is constructed
approximately 30 feet from the perimeters of the septic drainfield on the property.
Well description and comparable protection: The 5 inch diameter well is cased to 54fect. The wells location in
relation of the drainfield will be side-gradient to groundwater flow.
Comnarable protection:provide and probably exceed comparable protection from potential contamination
considering the specific site characteristics. Also water test results indicate bacteriology safe and nitrates at
O.lppm. Above I Oppm Nitratc-N exceeds the recommended public water drinking standard.
- _
Reason(s)not feasible to require code compliance: The narrow lot with steep slopes and location of the
neighboring septic systems does not provide area for required-setbacks. -
Well sites ins peered: Yes,
This variance is granted subject to the following conditions:
I. The Septic system remains accessible for servicing as per code.
2. The septic system is maintained as per code.
3. Ali potential future property owners shall be given a copy of this variance prior to property transfer.
4. If future water samples results indicate greater than lOppm nitrate level then variance is null and void.
5. This variance is for the specific code provisions identified above only. Failure to comply with the conditions
of this variance by any current or future well owner renders the variance null and void.
As authorized by Kenneth G.Johnson, Water Division Administrator.
c m.wi.gov
wisconsm gov Naturally WISCONSIN
