We do encourage woody debris to remain in place for habitat
resources. However, removal for navigational purposes, it is allowed.
In a riverine system, trees are private property. So removing them will require permission from the private property
owners.
Regards, Dan
We are committed to service excellence.
Visit our survey at http://dnr.wi.gov/customersurvey to evaluate how I did.
Dan Harrington
Phone: (715) 733-0019
Dan.Harrington@Wisconsin.gov
From: Dennis Stoffels<dennis@ursa major.net>
Sent: Monday, October 21, 2019 7:45 AM
To: Harrington, Dan - DNR<Dan.Harrington@wisconsin.gov>
Subject: North Fork of the Clam River
Hello Mr. Harrington,
I have had a conversation with Jason Towne the Burnett county Zoning Administrator about a change in flow of the Clam
Rver and he suggested I get in contact with you about a question regarding this.
My family has owned our property on the clam river for about 30 years. We have an upstream landing we use to enter
the river and canoe or float downstream to another access where we get out. In 2018 at some point some trees have
fallen a short distance upstream and has changed a large amount of the flow to a different path.
On the Burnett County GIS Maps it shows in blue the river flowing where it had prior to this change. I would like to know
if it is allowable for us to remove some or all of the blockage to restore the previous flow to the portion of the river it
i
