The FIRM panel for this site shows that the southwest corner of the <br /> previous cabin falls in Zone AE of the RFE. For planning, I have conducted this flood plain evaluation of the site. <br /> Based on the observed elevations,clearly this building site is above the RFE. No floodproofing is required for the <br /> proposed construction. Mr. Faye is planning to raise the floor of the new house approximately 6 inches to improve <br /> drainage away from the proposed structure. This would raise the floor to an elevation above the 958 required for <br /> floodproofing(if it was needed). Furthermore, the meander line of the existing CSM is approximately 20' to 25' west <br /> of the old cabin slab. I observed the natural ground elevation to be above 957 at the area of the meander line or more <br /> than a foot above the RFE.. <br /> I would recommend that based on my evaluation documented here, Burnett Count issue permits to proceed <br /> with building.
