Lot 1,25-40-15,Jackson.
Dear Mr.Leach;
On Monday,May 17,you contacted this office in regard to the required setback from a soil absorption cell
to a garage that you may wish to construct on the subject property described above. In the course of our
phone conversation, you indicated that you had just recently installed the drain field. We were unable to
find any record of a Sanitary Permit for a replacement drain field for your property, further,we were unable
to find any records of any permits whatsoever for your property, except for a recent subdivision which
created Lot 1 of a Certified Survey Map recorded in Volume 19,Page 45. The Certified Survey Map does
indicate the cabin, and a"septic vent'adjacent to the driveway. I then conducted anon site inspection,to
attempt to ascertain if a violation of the Burnett County Sanitary ordinance,as well as COMM 83,
Wisconsin Administrative Code and Section 145 Wisconsin Statutes, had occurred.
In the course of my inspection,I determined that a violation of the Sanitary Ordinance,COMM 83 and S
145 for the replacement or alteration of a soil absorption cell had occurred,as well as numerous violations
of the Shoreland Section of the Zoning Ordinance. The violations I observed are listed below. There may
be others.
• Install, replace or alter private sewage system without the required Sanitary Permit.
• Install or extend an outfall pipe discharging wastewater to Pine Lake.
• Filling and grading within the 35 foot Shoreland Buffer Zone of Pine Lake.
• Filling and placing deleterious materials below the Ordinary High Water Mark of Pine Lake.
• Construction of a new 12-foot by 16-foot screen porch 46 feet from the Ordinary High Water
Mark of North Sand Lake, without the required Land Use Permit.
• Construction of a new 10-foot wide deck at 46 feet from the Ordinary High Water Mark of North
Sand Lake, without the required Land Use Permit.
The Violations present on your property are serious matters that must be corrected. You must stop
construction of the Screen Porch, subject to Land Use Permit application. Further, you are subject to
Citations or other Enforcement Action. Contact this office immediately to discuss the required corrective
measures that must be initiated.
Sincerely,
Craig Conroy
Assistant Zoning Administrator
