Clark: <br /> This acknowledges receipt of an application for a Department of the Army <br /> permit for your project to discharge fill material into wetlands adjacent to <br /> Big McKenzie Lake. The project site is in Sec. 25, T. 40N. , R. 14W. , Burnett <br /> County, Wisconsin. <br /> Your application has been assigned file number (94-05106-IP-DBK) ; please <br /> refer to it whenever you contact us. Additional information is required <br /> before we can begin our evaluation. Please provide the following: <br /> a. accurate drawings of the proposed project, including cross-sectional <br /> view drawings of the proposed fill areas. See the enclosed sample drawings <br /> taken from our application booklet (enclosures 1 and 2) . The drawing <br /> submitted with your application indicates two areas as "filled low area. " A <br /> recent site visit revealed that the area has not been previously filled and a <br /> majority of the lot in question is wetland. <br /> b. area of wetland impacted by the wetland fill for both the proposed <br /> drive and building site. <br /> The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) has asked that we <br /> forward to you State Water Quality Certification Information Requirements <br /> (Enclosures 3 and 4) . We request that you provide the information listed in <br /> Enclosure 4 within 30 days from the date of this letter; send one copy to the <br /> WDNR Area Office and another to this office. If the alternatives analysis is <br /> not provided within the 30-day period, the State water quality certification <br /> and the Department of the Army permit application may be denied. This would <br /> not prohibit you from later providing the information and requesting <br /> reactivation of the application. <br /> Please provide this information within 30 days from the date of this <br /> letter. After receipt of the information requested in the preceding two <br /> paragraphs, we will proceed with our review of your project. The Corps of <br /> Engineers individual permit process involves issuance of a public notice and <br /> preparation of an environmental assessment. It is possible, though unlikely, <br /> that a public hearing will be required. The evaluation generally requires 120 <br /> to 150 days. If you fail to respond, we will withdraw your permit request. <br /> We would subsequently reactivate this file upon receipt of all requested <br /> information. <br />
