You stated that you knew it must be maintained, but
willingly cut it anyway.
Therefore, I have decided to issue a citation. You are enrolled in the Shoreline Incentive
Program for tax credits on a shoreline buffer that must be maintained. It is paramount that the
area meets any requirements specified by your buffer restoration plan. You are legally
obligated to do so by a covenant recorded with the Burnett County Register of Deeds and
Burnett County Ordinance, as well as being in danger of having the variance/land use permit
revoked (issued for the basement addition).
You must work with Burnett County Land and Water Conservation Department to satisfy the
buffer restoration plan they developed, in a timeframe that they will provide you. The back of
the citation (enclosed) describes how you must properly handle it with the court system.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me Monday-Friday from 8:30-4:30.
Thanks,
Craig Dantoin
Burnett County Zoning & POWTS Specialist
