Support local employment of area citizens, especially efforts that create opportunities for <br /> local young adults. <br /> B. Support home-based businesses that do not significantly increase noise,traffic,odors, <br /> lighting, or would otherwise negatively impact the area. <br /> 6.6 Economic Development Policies and Recommendations <br /> Policies and Recommendations <br /> ED 3. Tourism should be supported as a vital component of the Town's economic base. <br /> ED 4. Support home-based business as a primary economic development tool. <br /> ED 8. The Town should support existing business expansion and retention efforts <br /> The Wilderness Fellowship Ministries has attracted local residents and visitors from all over the <br /> United States and Canada. <br /> The Wilderness Fellowship Ministries strives to retain the rural character of our community <br /> while maintaining attractive cabin campsites that fit within the landscape design. <br /> There is no other organization like The Wilderness Fellowship Ministries within the Town of <br /> Trade Lake or Burnett County that provides a personal faith-based atmosphere that fill a unique <br /> niche in the town. <br /> They also provide quality employment for local citizens as well as using a local contractor for <br /> the building of the proposed prayer cabins. <br /> The proposed addition of prayer cabins is an excellent way for this existing organization to grow <br /> in our community and support tourism and quiet outdoor recreation- The Wilderness Fellowship <br /> Ministries does not allow AVT/UTV or snowmobiles which helps to maintain the quiet rural <br /> atmosphere and preservation of the quality of life for all who visit and the surrounding <br /> community. <br /> The Wilderness Fellowship Ministries has attracted local residents and visitors from all over the <br /> United States and Canada, which brings in new cash flow to our area and the surrounds towns. <br /> 8.8 Future Land Use Management Areas <br /> Rural Mixed Use/Hamlet(RMU) <br /> • Purpose: To recognize the places of Trade Lake as small growth areas that have historically <br /> been crossroad communities that provide convenience and rural retail services to farm and lake <br /> recreation areas. <br /> • Primary Goal: To maintain and allow the limited growth of these areas in a fashion that <br /> strengthens the existing identity and character. <br /> 8.12 Land Use Policies and Recommendations <br /> Policies and Recommendations <br /> LU 5. Provide the county input and recommendations prior to a rezoning, conditional use, land <br /> division(including plats and certified survey maps),or site plan approval. <br /> LU 11.
