Zoning Committee Meeting
February 1, 2000
Page 2
Other Business
Flanigan asked the Committee if an owner had been issued a permit for a one-time 144 square foot
addition to the side of a nonconforming structure could they come back later for another permit to
change the use from a deck to a 3-season porch? The Committee said that as long as the footprint is
there and they are not adding more footage they could change the use with another permit.
The Committee received a letter from Circuit Judge, Eugone Harrington on the decision of Becvar et al
vs. Burnett County Board of Adjustment. Becvar had first went to the Zoning Committee for a
subdivision variance that was denied. He applied again and it was denied a second time. He then
appealed the decision of the Zoning Committee to the Board of Adjustment. They decided that the
decision of the Zoning Committee was correct. Becvar then appealed the decision of the Board of
Adjustment to Circuit Court. In this letter the Court stated that the decision of the Board of Adjustment
is affirmed.
The Committee reviewed the possibility of creating a metallic mining ordinance. This was suggested
by the Town of Scott who provided copies of several cc.Onty's ordinances and other research. Laura
Furtman, Town of Scott Planning, would like to put together a sample ordinance for Burnett County for
the Zoning Committee to review. This was approved by the Committee.
The Committee reviewed a plat done by surveyor Mike Norton on property owned by Michael Huth
described as Lipsie Pines Subdivision in Government Lots 2, 3, and 4, and the NEI/4 of the SE'/a,
Section 12, Township 39, Range 14 West, Town of Rusk. Conditional Permit #1126 was granted to
create a lake access outlot for two backlots (Lots 5 and 6) on Class 1 Lipsett Lake. It was proposed that
the ownership of Outlot 1 will be a 1/91h interest each for owners of Lots 1-9 of the Plat of Lipsie Pines.
The Committee reviewed the Covenants and Restrictions.
Office Business
Motion made by Bohn to approve the vouchers, second by Alderman. Motion carried.
Motion made by Alderman to approve the minutes of the January meeting, second by Engelhart.
Motion carried.
Poretti adjourned the meeting.
,Respectfully submitted,
'Michelle Brown, Zoning Secretary
Approved by:
'Susan Bohn, Committee Secretary
