boathouse. The service/entry door shall not be on the water body side of the <br /> boathouse. <br /> 14. The width of the boathouse on the water body side shall not exceed 12 feet. <br /> 15. Patio doors, fireplaces and other features inconsistent with the use of the structure <br /> exclusively as a boathouse are not permitted. <br /> 16. Any construction on slopes greater than 20 percent shall require a filling/grading <br /> permit in conjunction with approval from the land and water conservation <br /> department. <br /> 17. No retaining walls shall be used in the construction. <br /> 18. Boathouses shall be constructed in conformity with local floodplain zoning standards. <br /> 19. Boathouses must meet all other setbacks, such as; wetland, side lot line, front lot line, <br /> rear lot line, property lines, road right-of-way and sanitary setbacks. <br /> 20. A set of construction plans shall be submitted as part of the application. <br /> 21. A map of survey shall be submitted with the permit application to demonstrate the <br /> location of the proposed structure along with floodplain information and required <br /> setback information. <br /> 22. Applicant must obtain any relative permits from their town before construction. <br /> 23. An agreement to abide by these requirements shall be notarized and recorded with <br /> the register of deeds office prior to the permit being issued. The agreement shall be <br /> binding on all future owners and shall run with the land until the boathouse is <br /> completely removed and the site is restored to a natural state. <br /> b. The roof of an existing boathouse may be used as a deck provided that: <br /> 1. The existing boathouse has a flat roof. <br /> 2. The existing boathouse roof has no side walls or screens. <br /> 3. The boathouse was legally constructed. <br /> 4. The roof may have a railing that meets the department of safety and professional <br /> services standards. <br /> 5. The existing roof material is to be used as the deck surface. This provision does not <br /> allow a deck to be constructed over the existing roof surface. <br /> c. Open-sided and screened structures such as gazebos, decks, patios and screen houses in <br /> the shoreland setback area that satisfy the requirements in Wis. Stats. § 59.692(1 v): <br /> 1. The part of the structure that is nearest to the water is located at least 35 feet <br /> landward from the ordinary high water mark. <br /> 2. The floor area of all the structures in the shoreland setback area will not exceed 200 <br />
