safety reason which will look odd to say the least. Please consider this because the
length of our deck makes sense for the size of our trailer.
4. Level playing ground - In the Preserve Burnett County article October 5th it says
the Burnett County Land Use and Info committee voted (and approved) to update
rules for campgrounds. It states the rules in Chapter 30, #6 will, "Create a uniform
standard and level playing field for all campgrounds on deck, patios and sheds that
are allowed." Over the last several years CUPs have been approved to allow some
campgrounds to grandfather and/or increase existing decks/screen porch etc.i.e.:
Rosenthal (732sq ft.),Whitetail Wilderness (1000 sq. Ft) and Oakridge
Campground (grandfathered) to name just a few. To approve some and not others
to grandfather or increase existing decks/screen porch/etc. does not sound like
there is an level playing field as your stated. I ask that you allow Dufours to
Grandfather in others and ours asseccory items that have been there for several
years.
5. Lastly looking at past history-As you are well aware the standard size for
campground accessories (deck/screen porch/patio) have changed drastically over
the years and the CUPs approved to increase some accessory structures and not
others have further muddy the water. It only makes sense that when building a
deck you would go by the rules that apply at that time but it doesn't seem as though
that applies here because we are being forced to comply to todays rules for
something that was build 30+years ago. I'm not even sure what rules applied when
our deck/screen porch/etc.was built or how it was handled 30+years ago but I do
know from the many approved CUPs with out accessory restrictions (CUP 14-12)
and other inspections done, such as Flannigan's in 1996 that the county was aware
of the situation.
In closing we once again requested that Burnett County and North Camp Properties
work together to Solve this injustice many feel has been forced upon us.We are in
process of putting together our application to make changes to our deck/screen
porch etc.that will cost us 1000s and the loss of a tree, however we do hope you
consider the above points and allow us to be grandfathered in.
Thank you
Craig and Cheryl Pudas
Dufours Campground, site 18 yid WI I 0
r '- U
Emailed to: k Mc'' "65
Landservices@burnettcounty.com G9W,
Jason Towne, Land services Director 'V`e., / Z 3 Kellee@Northcampproperties.com N $/1'
D ff
Mailed to:
Burnett County Land and Use Committee,Attention Jason Towne
North Camp Properties,attention: Steve Austin
