Shrubs
Plant 23 shrubs scattered throughout the buffer following the general guidance in the
restoration plan. Choose at least 2 different shrub species from the Woodland Edge—
Oak/Pine Barrens list in the landowner guide. Do not substitute non-native shrubs. Be
sure to avoid all honeysuckles other than the bush honeysuckle Diervilla lonicera. These
can be invasive in forested areas. Honeysuckles other than this suecies will be
required to be removed from the planting.
You may trim up to a two-foot diameter circle around newly planted shrubs for the first
year or two to give them a good start.
4: September 27,2002
